Gary Williams is a senior social scientist and NEPA expert at the Clark Group based in the Washington, DC office. Gary was an assistant environmental scientist and social scientist at the University of Chicago's, Argonne National Laboratory. During his tenure at the Laboratory, Gary was the Social and Natural Resources Section Manager involved in environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, public involvement, evaluation research, studying social and cultural aspects of human and natural resource interaction, analysis of social, demographic and economic impacts of various projects on the social system, data base design and development, and design of Internet applications. His management responsibilities included program management of interdisciplinary environmental scientists, monitoring and mitigation programs and program development activities.
Gary's work with the Clark Group has included reviewing and providing advice on NEPA issues, team teaching continuing education courses at Duke University's Environmental Leadership Program in the Nicholas School of Environment and Earth Sciences (Social and Economic Impact Assessment, Public Involvement and Environmental Management Under NEPA). Gary is also conducting an environmental review for the Tulalip biogas project in Northwest Washington State.
Gary received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Colorado State University and both his Master in Social Science Education and Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from the University of Georgia.
